Synodontis nigrita & westies

Hi all,

I don't currently keep any West African dwarfs but was wondering if someone could recommend a species to keep with Synodontis nigrita.

Hello J,

Considering it's larger adult size (about 9 inches), you could probably house Synodontis nigrita with Pelvicachromis humilis, P. rubrolabiatus, P. signatus, or any of the smaller to mid-sized tilapiines. S. nigrita has a wide distribution and, as far as I know, is not picky about water chemistry. It is found in the Kolente system, for instance, where the water is soft and acidic, but also in the Nile system, where the water is harder and more alkaline.
