ok.. the thing is, that the A.breitbinden/ broadband are in a 90 gallon community with my TR Cacatuoides trio & along with some juvenile bitaniatas... well, after I noticed that one of the cackatoo females (wild) had fry with the large dominant TR male, I threw a large clear plastic live-breeder container over the mom and babies (upside down) about 10 inches x 10 inches to safeguard them from the gold nugget pleco and the corys and pretty much everything else in the tank... well, soon after I noticed that the A. breitbinden female died also... so I replaced her with another one and then i noticed that the male A.breitbinden/broadband kept on hanging around the container where the cackatoo and babies were and he was furociously defending them as if they were his own. So, every time the female Breitbinden tries to court him (about once ever other minute of the day) he shoo's her away... then i noticed that it gets to the point where he beats her up and she's bruised and battered... so i take it that he killed the previous female when she was courting him... is this the first time anyone has heard of this?? and all of this happens around the TR male who seems to not even care! I'm positive that the babies are Cacatuoides because i saw them doing the "dirty" ... a few days before i even noticed the babies... the fry are now beyond free swiming, they are curious and adventurous.
