Hi.

Im going to start up an 86 gallon/325 litre tank (130 cm*50 cm* 50cm/51"*17"*17") with dwarfcichlids, tetras and Corydoras.

My waterparameters are: DH 4.8, KH about 2, pH 6.8
I want to make a real biotope tank with fishes living in the same area in the nature.

I have a lot of roots (red moore and driftwood) and peat so I think i will be a blackwater biotope, but a clearwater biotope with some plants to is also possible.

I´ve done a lot of research, but I just cant make the decision...
Wich and how many dwarfs would you had choosed? And wich tetras and Corydoras?

Maybe this can give an idea of what the scape will look like.

Very nice looking wood and roots!

Choosing fish can be very difficult to say the least. Among the first places I always start when trying to pick what fish to stock a tank with is what fish are readily avaliable. All the research and drooling over pictures of fish (both fun and important things to do!) don't do much good if you select fish that you are unable to purchase.

So my advice is to find out what fish you have access to, research the ones you like, and work that list down to your final choices.

Good luck and have fun...

Thanks:)
You got a point there... The problem is that the avalible species varies from one day to another, but the LFS said that they could take almost all species home...

But it would still be nice with some stocking suggestions:)

Im thinking of 2.2 Dicrossus filamentosus/2.4 taeniacara candidi, 1.2 Apistogramma viejita or hongsloi, 25 Paracheirodon axelrodi and 15 Corydoras habrosus.
What do you think about that? Would it work?

Too many bottom dwellers & too many fry predators if you plan to breed your cichlids. See my reply to you (#2) on: http://www.forum.apistogramma.com/showthread.php?t=6952.

Cardinal/Red Neon Tetras have a reputation for being one of the best fry predators around.
