Hi I have recently upgraded my tank to a 250l which has dwarf pencilfish and 1 panduro, and I was thinking about getting some more apistos.

Do these apistos prefer to live in a group or alone? I'm completely happy to just have one if that's best for the fish

If my apisto would be happier in a group i have other tanks i could use as grow out, but if he is fine alone then I wouldn't go out of my way to breed them.

If you want to keep a display without breeding then stick to a single fish. They have hierarchies in the wild, but a fish tank has limits. Low ranking fish can't escape, they will be killed or die from stress.
