Sexing A.diplotaenia

Hi all,

First, I am sorry about the poor quality of the photos below ... fishes are in a dark tank for 2 days now, and they are very shy...

I've tried to identify the sex for 2 specimens, and now they are here, I have some doubts ... you opinion would be welcome :

fish #1 is around 2 cm SL :



fish #2 is around 3 cm SL :

No. 2 is a definite female to me.
no. 1 is a bit unclear while it also appears to be female to me.

also agree, num 2 a female, number 1 still a little small but looks like female

It might be a male, but would like to have the tail and anal fins in focus. They are small fish indeed. merci js :biggrin:

Well, I can say for sure now that it is a male ... I got 2 free swimming larvaes this morning (I did not expect more due to the size of the male ...)
