I have a batch of A. baenschi fry that are 10 weeks old and a little over 2 cm in length. I have been trying to look for any differences that may indicate gender, but have been unable to notice any.
Are these fish just too young to sex, or , (heaven forbid), are they all the same sex ?
I have kept the water in both the spawning , and rearing tanks at 26-27 C and while the spawning tank had a pH of 6.2-6.5, the grow-out tank is 7.2. the fry were moved to this grow-out tank at about 5 weeks of age and the pH was slowly adjusted over a period of a week.
Since I have 2 more batches in the pipeline , I thought I had better check to see if I am doing something wrong. I had expected to be able to sex them by now.
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
