Sarotherodon Caudomarginatus

I was going thru Anton Lamboj book The cichlid fishes of western Africa and seen a pic of this cichlid , i found this fish to be very attractive and i really want to get my hands on some , has anybody ever had the privelage of keeping this species or no where i can get my hands on some from?

I find the species S. melanotheron to be most attractive. There are populations in the Tampa, Florida area, I wonder if some cichlidophile could be bribed into scooping some up. Nice looking fish, lots of gold, pink, green etc.
I suspect that caudomarginatus is going to be difficult. Exporters are not really into shipping 'tilapia'.

In commercial channels, yes, but if you know of a fish nut in the Tampa area, perhaps not. I also have another possible lead, I'll check it out in the next few weeks & let you know. PM me your Email.

S. caudomarginatus is not in the hobby, as faras I know. Iwilllookinthe booklater, but unless a fish comes from Congo (DRC), Guinea, Nigeria or Cameroon there is little chance it is exported commercially.

It's from Guinea to Liberia. Not much luck there unless some private collector happens to bring some back.
