I recently aquired a pair of panduro and noticed that the male also shows a lateral spot at all times, I have heard that the panduro have three forms but can only find info on the 'normal' form and the form with a caudal pattern. Are mine the third form or some kind of mutation?

I guess that you mean the 3 forms listed in the DATZ book: A 183 - 185. A 183 is the typical A. panduro. A 184 and A 185 are forms with vertical stripes in the tail. The only real difference between the 2 latter forms is that males of A 185 have a red patch in the soft part of the dorsal fin, while males of A 184 do not. All males of A. panduro show a lateral spot from time to time. It depends on the mood of the individual.
