my wife got me a digital camera for xmas, and i have been snapping a few shots. what software do you use to edit your prints? i want something which is easy to use (i don't want to spend the next year learning a new program) and is inexpensive. any thoughts?

I think adobe photoshop is a good one, my friend has it and always has great pics. I don't have it yet, but soon I hope(couple hundred bucks), I have to upgrade my computer first, mine won't even edit the pics with the software that came with the camera.

actually matt, i am looking for a quick- and- dirty program with fewer features. i am not a professional, and i don't want to spend my life learning photoshop. i believe there are smaller programs which are less of an effort to learn.

It think adobe photoshop 2.0 has less features and is about $40. I recently did an upgrade of my adobe acrobat reader and also downloaded what I believe is a demo version of it.

For a quick program, with minimum features (resize, color control, brightness, contrast, and a few others like that), I usually use ACDSee.

It's small in size, does not require a mega computer to make it run, and does the job fast and easy!!

Oh.. almost forgot, I use it also as a picture viewer instead of the Microsoft programs...

I use Photosho Elements 2.0, like it a lot, especially the "Save for Web" feature...takes the guesswork out of optimization. All of the photos on my website (URL below) were edited with this application.

I use Jasc Paint Shop Pro - www,jasc.com - not sure how much from the off but cheaper than photoshop and a lot lot easier to use.
