There is a slim chance that Atlantis Tropical Fish Hatchery will import Matadi into the U.S. Is there anybody out there who might be interested in a joint order? I cannot speak to the quality of the fish. All I know is that they were bred in the Czech Republic. I've kept Matadi before and if Atlantis has the real thing (as opposed to the Moanda), the fish will be spectacular.

The Czech bred fish certainly look like Matadi (no silver scales on the abdomen). My only experience with them is that they were infrequent and sporadic spawners, and had a few morphological problems due to inbreeding. Mostly stubby bodies and incorrect mouth shape.

Funny.... 10 years ago is was the Matadi that that common from the wild. And teh two location (Matadi and Moanda) are not far apart. Even the Moanda has been a rare import over the past few years.

Re-designing and starting a new fish room all over again. This time we'll have many more Apistsogramma species. We are expanding.

Hi,

just in case you happen to live in Germany (or Netherlands): I have a wildcaught female A. psammophila, you could have it for free. I have no use for it anymore.
