 Hi all I hav recently purchased 6 A.panduro juves and have been growing them out In a 35 gal cube I know I have at least one male but have not been able to find photos of females not in breeding dress three of them seem sort of yellow orange hued and have the black cheek strip and ventrals but no abdominal blotch. Does any one have any pics of their panduro females I can compare to.
Sincerely Curtis

For your reference: The blue one is a male pandura, the yellow one is a female pandura. ^.^

I have found pics Like yours what I was hoping for was a pic of a female not in breeding dress mine have no blotch in the midquarters/abdomen area. They may still be young. Thanks for the reply Yours look great. Now if I can get my Bit Purutu to start coloring up and getting their extensions I had a beautiful male but lost him to internal parasites. got some borellii eggs cooking again and some ram eggs too about 150.

Thanks Blueblue I did notice two of the littler ones squaring off and they had some faded dark coloring along midsection so I know now that I have at least 2 females I think four and two males Now I just got to get the water right and wala they should spawn too bad the rita fallout did not make ti to Dallas/FT Worth area was hoping on collecting some rain water for my apistos. lol I have soft water 50pp tgh but 8.4 PH my tkh is 400-600 ppm I have buffering capacity out the yen yang Only thing to lower the alkalinity is to use rain or RO water and distilling is too much work.LOL

You are welcome, Curtis. would you consider using peat moss, or blackish water to soften and acidify the water? ^.^ here in Hong Kong, rain water is relatively difficult and inconvenient to collect and we all use other methods to get soft and acidic water...

Update

Hi all I have a new mother watching over her clutch. My panduros have started to spawn and 1 of my fems is guarding. 2 other femns are showing signs of interest in doing the nasty LOL Unfourtunatly my Rtpunkt have once again eaten their clutch of 150+ eggs again and my Cruzi are doing the same. So YeeHaa I have baby panduros on the way. Now If my Bits and aggies and cacas would follow the example. the others are giving them I would have no wants. Oops I lied I want more apistos LOL
