Anybody ever try and make apisto breeding caves using oven bake clay? Is it fish-safe? Just thought I'd try and mix things up a bit, since now I've always used broken terra cotta pots.

Hi all,

It doesn't work under water, it dissolves pretty quickly.

<"Half coconuts"> are good.

There are a few DIY pottery cave threads on "PlanetCatfish". Have a look at <"Home-made pleco....">.

A $2 mini 3 inch tall plant pot from the local nursery seems to be the go to cave for my apistos. A jig saw is used to cut an opening and the pot is sat upside down.
