ORP(Redox) or EC/TDS

I'm thinking about geting an electronic PH tester. There is the PH/EC/TDS combo unit and there is also a PH/ORP(Redox) unit. From what i have researched EC and TDS generally relate to hardness(but not as simple as that). Redox is more of a measure of the water quality. I don't completely understand this stuff but i think the Redox testing unit may be the way to go for me.
What do you guys think is more important to have EC/TDS or ORP?

I had that choice and I chose TDS/EC... The manin reason is that I understand the units better. All of the articles that you will read that actually mention water hardness will refer to a TDS or mS reading rather than ORP.

excuse my ignorance
is ORP not more to do with free radical or ionisation of the water ?
i take the oxidative piece to mean the same as chemically rusting

how does somethings charge or potential electrical difference relate to quality

thanks in advance andrew
