Tail shape doesn't look right and I would assume A. cacatuoides would have more pronounced first few dorsal rays, but I do not know.

yes, the tail shape makes me doubt too, but i think that it could be a little bit "modified" by other male...

I think it is a young male cacatuoides. Leading dorsal spines will grow with time and tail will likely become more lyrate as well.

I agree with Bart. The caudal looks a bit damaged to me. Whether or not it is from the Rio Itaya I can't say. I have collected on the Itaya with TomC, but we were looking for A. sp. Oregon.
