OK....fess up....who has the REAL A viejita?

Lots of people who think they have A viejita actually have A macmasteri

Does anyone have the real deal???....or are they just too hard to collect!

Hi all,
I think the answer is possibly that nobody does at present. In the UK a few people had/have Apistogramma "Schwarzkehl", which was originally described as a form of A. viejita.

The only one I know who had A. viejita in the past couple of years is Terrence Trasatti (PA) who found it among some wild Orinoco Rams. It is subtly different from the holotype form (weak pattern in the caudal fin), but the dark markings are the same. He only found one male, sad to say.

A. viejita eggs can be dried, same as killi fish. I have some prepared I can send over, only $500 per egg....

Thanks regani but I am not really keen on dried eggs, the last time I bought some to a lovely old chinese man and added them to my aquarium I got some Gremlins popping up in place of Notobranchius, now I have to be careful not to feed them overnight or expose them to sunlight
