I picked up a pair of Pelvicachromis taeniatus "Bandewori" at a auction over the weekend for 10$.
I also wanted to know if the Bandewori different from the Wori.
Here is a photo of the Bandewori

Bandewouri are very different from wouri. The latter has some signficant coor differences that suggest it may not be in the same species as other P. taeniatus... if someone ever gets around to reclassifying Pelvicachromis species.

I cannot see the top of the caudal fin of your male... is it spotted?

Hmmm.... I thought that 'bandewouri' was one of the spotted varieties. I had them so long ago I do not remember clearly, and I do not have images. An image search turns up only one pic that might be two female bandewouri and one pic that is not (it is a wouri female). Someone who has bandewouri, or has had them, please chime in as to whether they have spots or not.

If badewouri is a spotted variety, then your fish are probably 'Nyete'... antother very nice P. taeniatus. The other option is 'Lobe', but they are not as yellow as nyete can be.

Ted, I been looking at tons of pic's on the net and you are right the 'bandewouri has spots on the tail and in the dorsal fin. There is a very good pic on the Krib of the 'bandewouri.
The bad thing now is that i have eggs from them. How do a lable these fish, should i keep posting pics, it looks like they could be "lobe" but the female has tons of color to her.

There would not be any problems labelling your fish as 'Pel. taeniatus aquarium strain'. I would even go further and describe them as 'Lobe-type'.

Can you post a link to that image to you found of the bandewouri?
