i just acquired a few apistos the other day from a friend. they are 3 ap. tucurui, 5 ap. gibbiceps, and 1 ap. pertensis. does anyone have any tips on keeping them alive and healthy and possibly breed them for a while.

I have kept A. gibbiceps and A. pertensis and found them to do best in very soft water with pH near 6.0. Otherwise, their eggs would not hatch for me.

I just got some Apistogramma iniridae from The Cichlid Exchange thanks to Mike Wise's mentioning they had them as A. pertensis. Just got one spawn but they are still in tapwater with pH of 7.4 and total Hardness ~7DH so I am not expecting them to hatch.
