Hi my name is Lowell. I have been a fish hobbyist since I was 12 years old, some 28 years ago. I started breeding fish when I was in high school. The first fishes I breed were killifish, because I met someone at a pet store and he invited me to a Killifish Club meeting in Cincinnati. Well, ever since then I have always been a killie breeder and I will do other fish like apistos, rainbows or livebearers as a side interest. At one time about 3 years ago I had 50 species of killies, 28 rainbows, 10 apistos and 6 livebearers. That was way too many fish, so now I have about 10 species of killies and about 3 livebearers, but here shortly I will be getting some apistos when the weather gets warmer.
I have always enjoyed apistos and other dwarf cichlids. I am glad that I found this place and I hope to learn more about this great hobby.
I am a member of the AKA (American Killifish Association), where I volunteer as the Audio/Video Chairman. I basically sell videotapes of workshops performed at our National convention or at club meeting. Some of the videos do crossover to be useful with other fishes besides killifish.
