Thanks. They are mostly in a community situation. Wish I had a real fishroom with a rack of species only tanks.

Too bad this pic of him with no flash is blurry. Looks like he will be a pretty fish. Do we know what he is?

I dont think it looks Cac-like as we originally thought.

This is a form of A. cf. eunotus from the Marañon system. It occasionally arrives together with A. baenschi and A. rositae. I've never seen a live specimen, nor enough photos to determine if it is a distinct species or not. If it were my fish, I would sell it as A. cf. eunotus (Crystal).

I need to revise my previous post. That'll teach me to not check out all the info first! If this fish truly is from the Rio San Alejandro, then it comes from a location far from the Marañon, but in the Rio Aguaytia drainage west of Pucallpa. I know that a well-known collector was collecting in the area.

The Rio San Alejandro isn't far from Campo Verde, the type locality of A. eunotus. That being said, the fish doesn't look like the type A. eunotus (the body too slender, the caudal spot is different, and the caudal has a distinct pattern. In this respect the fish looks more like forms from the Marañon and areas around Iquitos (A. cf. eunotus (Marañon), A. sp. Black-breast/Schwarzbrust). I'd still call it A. cf. eunotus (Crystal).
