looks like hole in the head
this is a poorly understood disease, that is thought to be multifactorial and generally just disfiguring than fatal

many aietologies hvae been preposed though as yet none have been well proven

many treat with metronidazol in food
ensuring good water
varied nutritious diet (vit C,D+E)
and remove carbon from filtration media are all other suggestions that cant hurt

unfotunately the disease is often recurrent

Can you verify if the fish (especially the infected ones) have stringy poo?

If they do, then very certain to be hole in the head. Metronidazol is the stuff to use treating such infection.

Well unlike discus they (fish and "poo") do not stay attached to each other long enough as in discus. Anyway, I will begin a metronidazole treatment today after some massive 3 day water changes
