N. anomala female?

Hey there, I went and got a couple of N. anomala's the other day but I'm a bit questionable on the female I chose. The male shows off to her, and tries to draw her into the caves, but I'm just not sure. She has irridescant scales when in the right light, and doesn't show the "criss-cross" pattern above the horizontal line. Do I have a female, or a sub-dominant male here?

Based on the behavior of your male, I would say it is a female. Females don't get the cross-hatching until they are breeding & raising fry. The tips of the dorsal and anal fins should be round.

From the picture it looks like two males to me, based on body shape and fins. Try to get a better picture of them and focus on the undefined one...

The smaller fish looks like a male due to the pointed dorsal fin.

hmmm, I'm really just not sure about this one, here's a few more pics.

the middle pic really makes it look male, but this evening, the male was showing off to him/her and s/he got a little bit of the cross-hatching thing going on....but who knows, hopefully you lot

I'd say they're both males.

I agree, 2 males, the smaller fish has an extended dorsal fin tip.
