my male apistogramm's left pelvic fine gone

he's with 8 black phantom tetras but I've never seen them nip my male apisto... I also have amano shrimps but I'm sure it's not the shrimps....

will it grow back? I really hope so!!! :frown:

what could cause this?

Hmmm. I've seen bad fin rot take a fin off. But after your second post, I'm not sure.

hard to get picture... I have a camera but we won't see a thing...

on some other forums this guy who has loads of apistos told me if the fish is in shape leave it be it'll grow back which I agree but it doesn't tell me what happened.

all fishes are doing fine except my apistos fin is like stuck to his side. one side is open the other side is closed. anyways....

I will do 10% water change until sunday just, clear the bottom a bit and leave it be and see how it goes.
but he eats fine, swims fine... no change except that fin.

I'll let you know how it goes in case this happens to others too.

pelvic fin came back... 3 days I changed 10%/day water just to make sure environment is clean and pelvic fin is back.

Keep watch for any swelling or pinkish color in the body where the hurt fin is attached, which might indicate infection.
