My male adoketa attack the female?

I just bought a pair of Adoketa. They were very bonded at the shop. However, since bringing them home—even though my 60x30x30 tank parameters are currently pH 5.0 and TDS 50—the male has become aggressive and keeps chasing the female. Why is this happening?

I'm putting my money on tank size (I. adoteka grow up to 12cm) and also on changed environments causing the ties between the fish to be cut. Ivanacara are more monogamous than Apistogramma or Dicrossus, but this is possible. Also a picture of the tank is probably necessary to determine more precisely what's going on.

I would separate them, before the male goes full Ivan the Terrible.

Re-designing and starting a new fish room all over again. This time we'll have many more Apistsogramma species. We are expanding.

Hi,

just in case you happen to live in Germany (or Netherlands): I have a wildcaught female A. psammophila, you could have it for free. I have no use for it anymore.
