Cool whats the game plan? Are you gonna keep them with parents or what? I have a pair of A. euph... something that spawned but only two wigglers survived and I'm wondering what to do with them.

I don't think I've ever seen an apisto or other fish for that matter, pull the loopy loop as that momma did at 0:08.

Good reference video for those who has trouble sexing their A. trifasciata. Notice there is no extended dorsal ray on the female and how nice and 'flat' it is. Any inkling of an extended dorsal ray is a sure sign of a male.

Hi,
fry are growing with parents as they have to learn how to be parents one day! ;-)

My goal is to breed wild fishes and diffuse them among hobbysts, for those willing an alternative to the (unnatural imho) hybrids that can be found in most shops.

Sorry, english is not my native language so proably I've not used the right word... I was meaning the hyper colored and/or super selected fishes I see in shops, at least here in Italy

I thought that was the reason. Second languages can cause misunderstanding. Once on the German dwarf cichlid forum (Das Zwergbuntbarscheforum) I wrote about using a flashlight (torch for our 'real' English speakers;)). Instead of using the German word for flashlight/torch, I used barbeque! Imagine using a barbeque to examine your apistos! I gave all my German friends a good laugh!

It looks like a form from the Rio Paraguay/Parana (from Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay, or Argentina) instead of the Rio Guaporé. Without a known collecting location it could be from many places.
