@dw1305. Thanx, I am not to worried if the do eat the fry, as I am not intending to breed them.
But if there had to be any fry survival that would be great.....maybe all the plants will help with this.

@prototop, the other Apisto you are seing is the female, I bought them as a pair, she hasnt started going yellow yet, but I am sure they should start breeding soon

Hi all,

Can you get a picture of her? you can't tell for sure from the photo, but as "prototop" says the definite impression is another male.

cheers Darrel

It's like night and day going from black water to the traditional planted tank. I must say the planted tank does "pop" and, for me, seems nicer to look at. Nice aqua-scaping.

I personally prefered your more natural scapes.
Do you still have the A. cacatuoides? Because I think I see some schrimps in the back and apisto's & schrimps don't match that good ;)

Love your tank Morris. I like the idea of the clip on light. I'm putting together a blackwater tank, not for Apistos though and the 24W T5 is a bit much.

I'm debating broaching the topic with Mrs Lurch of replacing the 4' with 4x 2' on a aesthetically acceptable rack. Expandable of course, but that's hush hush for now ;)
