Male Macmasteri hanging out in cave, is this normal?

Just like the title says, my male Macmasteri has been hanging out in the cave. He nearly got stuck coming out for food because he's slightly too big to fit through the opening. Does anyone know why he might be doing this? Neither he nor the female seem stressed at all, they are both active and eating well. He doesn't do this all the time, maybe one day a week, but I thought it was odd because my impression was that only the females use caves.

Welcome ninebit, are they showing any sign of breeding? What size tank? It does not happen all the time but I have one female Hongsloi that after the male does his job she has no more use for him and she starts hunting the male and I need to remove him once he is done.

Re-designing and starting a new fish room all over again. This time we'll have many more Apistsogramma species. We are expanding.

Hi,

just in case you happen to live in Germany (or Netherlands): I have a wildcaught female A. psammophila, you could have it for free. I have no use for it anymore.
