I recently wrote something for the BCA that lists references for all of the dwarf cichlasomines, including Ivanacara adoketa (not Nannacara anymore). I don't know when it will be published. Until then look up the fish under its new genus. There are many articles on the fish in several German pubs. and in the books Cichlid Atlas 1 & 2.

Hi, im also in the UK, there have been several imports of European bred fish in the last few months, they were available at high prices and were still fairly small, i didnt check the sexes but assume they would be difficult, a group to ensure both sexes would cost you aprox £200 in the UK.

A friend of mine has just had a successful spawning from a wild pair and yesterday he kindly brought 8 wrigglers to my fishroom, they are literally days old and still have yolk sacs.. Ill be raising these up alongside my mates fish and you should start seeing batches of UK bred fish over the next year or so.

Ive bred these in the past, they are open cave spawners, so they like a little shelter but dont need to be enclosed, a flower pot on its side is sufficient, they are a black water species that like soft water and the PH low..

what an incredible looking fish, reminds me of baron samedi with fins, I hope the proliferation efforts are successful. I am still new to apisto's and trying to master blackwater conditions so I wouldnt want my inexperience killing something rare in the trade. Honestly though thats the nicest looking fish ive seen yet, good luck.

Hi Mike, your writings very much appreciated, the latest issue of Cichlidae (The British cichlid association Journal) has just been delivered and your articles excellent.. Long may it continue.

I have to agree with you, the Ivanocara adokita are just stunning. They are one of the best patterned fish I have ever set eyes on. If you can get them do so.
Mine are not too demanding with food and water conditions and are not shy at all.
Here is a couple of pics of them.
