Laetacara curviceps

I have some of these fish on the way. anybody have any words of advice or thoughts on them? -Bradley

Depending on your supplier - knowledgeable hobbyist breeder or commercial supplier/less knowledgeable hobbyist breeder - you have a better than average chance of getting L. dorsigera instead. Both are relatively easy to keep in average tap water.

I keep reading that most fish are miss-labeled and really are L. dorsigera. Both are neat fish. They are Going into a 50 breeder. Any worries about aggression with other dwarfs, apistos or issues with acidic water? I would like to put my pair of A. Pebas "Rio Ampiyacu" in this tank too.

If properly aquascaped, a 50 breeder tank should be fine for both species. They tend to use different parts of a tank.

sand, bunch of flower pots, lots of oak leaves, and quite a bit of wood. I've had trouble with my pebas eating eggs and the eggs getting fungus'd. They are in a smaller tank now but bred easily in a 33 for the guy I got them from. Thanks for the info. Laetacara should be here tmrw!

Sorry to be a pest but what are the defining differences between dorsigera and curviceps. fish should be here Wednesday!

Mostly body shape and pattern of markings on the flanks. Look at photos in some of the better books.

And... I did some research last night when I got off work. I think they are L.C's from the picture that the seller had up. Either way gonna be neat fish.

Oh, forgot to mention. A. Pebas have wigglers now! Still gonna move them into the bigger tank though. Farthest I've gotten with this fish so far.

I got them from someone off aqua bid. they are still posted... I'm not sure what these guys are. they are pretty small and all the stuff I've read about white trim and blue hue doesn't seem to work for me. There is a blue-ish tinge to this fish though?
