Hey guys I just bought a pair of wild caught laetacara araguaiae recently from a LFS. Did some research about them but it seem doesn't have that much info about them. Does any of you guys know about their parameters? My ph is 7.2 and temperature is 26C. I am feeding them Tropical Poland Krill Chips for their staple diet.

Care is similar to L. curviceps and L. dorsigera. There's lots of info on those two. Laetacara species don't usually have problems with badly skewed sex ratios like Apistos and some other dwarf cichlids often do. Make sure they get some vegetable foods too.

Thank you. That is quite a technical paper - what i was trying to figure out was the social dynamics of this fish - that is does it prefer to be kept in pairs or groups where a pair will temporarily form - breed - and then dissolve back into the group. I scanned the paper for keywords (group, social, breeding, behavior) but it was unclear if this was covered.

All of the Laetacara species form long-term pair bonds like most Neotropical cichlids. I suggest reading a general book on dwarf cichlids. Even the older ones are more informative than most websites.

Re-designing and starting a new fish room all over again. This time we'll have many more Apistsogramma species. We are expanding.

Hi,

just in case you happen to live in Germany (or Netherlands): I have a wildcaught female A. psammophila, you could have it for free. I have no use for it anymore.
