my kribs laid eggs today in a upside down flower pot its a small aquarium 12x8 lots of plants and some rocks ,4or 5 catfish and 3 small pearl gourami, do i take out the male? do i take out the other fish? if yes when do i take them out ? mother stays in the flower pot with th eggs thanks

I always like to leave the fish alone after they spawn, eggs, fry and all; unless one of the fish is getting beat up pretty well, at which point I normally steal the fry AND separate the parents...depending on the species. If you let them try raising the fry, the parental bond will grow, and even if they eat the eggs or fry, later on you will have better parents fish. Congrats on the spawn!

so i leave the catfish and small gourami in there with them?

A 12x8 (inch?) tank is way too small for all of the fish that are in it. When the kribs bring out the fry, the other fish will be in big trouble! I also can't imagine how you will keep 50-100 fry alive in such a small tank. You might want to just remove a few for yourself and let nature takes it course for the rest.

the 3 very small pearl gourami were in there as ditter fish the kribs are quite shy without them. the 5 catfish help clean up the tank but from your answer i will for sure take out all the other fish except the kribs ,and when the baby are 1 or 2 weeks old i will place them in a much bigger aquarium . what do you think?thanks for the info,
