I recently purchased these two apistos that were sold as Rio Mamore. However I'm starting to suspect that the female is some other Apisto based on her pattern and the way they interact with one another. I am sure the male is though.
You are right, it's not A. sp. Mamore (scientific name: A. erythrura) or any other species from the Rio Mamore I'm aware of. Rather it looks like A. baenschi to me. Do you have a photo of the male too?
Thanks I thought they were different just didn't know what the female was. Would you recommend I find another home for one or the other and try to get either of them a partner. I can't get both as my tank is only 90L
