I dont think she is TOO thin, just feed some protein rich, quality, live foods regularly along with your staple for a while to get her conditioned up.

Of course, never over feed. Add just as much as your fish can eat and when she is conditioned up use your live food less often. it can give them fatty livers and such and harm your fish.

Since it is in a grass tank with other dwarf cichlids, I'm thinking whether I should put it into a breeding cage to ensure it get the food

Bad idea! Breeding cages (usually called 'traps' for obvious reasons) are not large enough and will stress you fish more than being in an aquarium. A small tank (2½ gal./10 l or larger) would be much better. Small tanks are ideal for this as well as using as a quarantine/hospital tank.

You're right. However I don't hv space in office for a second tank (even its small). I think I will let it inside my grass tank then
Thanks Mike!

Re-designing and starting a new fish room all over again. This time we'll have many more Apistsogramma species. We are expanding.

Hi,

just in case you happen to live in Germany (or Netherlands): I have a wildcaught female A. psammophila, you could have it for free. I have no use for it anymore.
