Inridea and Uaupesi questions

I know someone who just got some of these in and after doing a quick search didn't find too much information on them. The inridea in particular. Does anyone know what these guys require? Do they need softer water compared to others or do they have special requirements unique to their speices? Are they really hard to come by? He says they're rare and hardly seen in the hobby, just want a second opinion before shelling out the cash. I am planning on breeding...would they be too hard to be beginner apisto's? Apisto's are hard to come by in my area and since he has some I will probably jump at the opportunity. ANd finally, does anyone have any pictures of them? The ones I've found aren't very colorful like some of the other apisto's.

My experience with A. iniridae is that they require soft acid water for breeding. Females can be very "choosey" with whom they breed, so buy more than 1 of each sex. I don't consider any iniridae-group fish (includes A. uaupesi) as a beginners fish. As for rarity, well, they aren't common, but do come in several time each year.
