ID please!! So recently i bought some apistos from an importer who deals in Wild fish. He sold me 6 very small specimens as "Iniridae"

They've grown abit with me since i bought them and they no where look like Iniridae at all.
I was told Iniridae entire batch was wiped out in QT and just 6 pcs survived so i bought all 6 which were less than an inch at that time .

They are neither iniridae nor D37 but rather a macmasteri-complex species. Which one exactly is impossible to tell for sure from the above pictures. If you have obvious males, show some pictures of them when they have colored up a bit.

I haven't seen an obvious male yet. Out of the 6 these 3 seemed to be grown more so took their pictures. So i guess ill wait some more weeks untill theyre all developed to see.

Yes, the supplier takes lousy videos. Hes the same guy who sent the macmasteri-complex as Iniridae

Then I'd not buy there anymore. Period. Such business methods sre red flags.

Coz the suspected males show faint purplish color like in the pic by TomC.

No and they are not necessarily A. macmasteri, but rather a macmasteri-complex species - A. macmasteri is just one of several possibilities.
