This is an Apisto I had decades ago. I never could identify it positively. What do you think?

It's difficult from this photo alone, because some typical markings of the species possble in this case are not visible. But my guess would be A. sp. Wangenflecken. However, if the complete caudal fin shows vertical stripes, it can also be one of the A. cf. caetei forms or if not wild A. sp. Steel-blue.

In the caetei forms part of vertical bar 7 is usually darkend just below the lateral band, which gives the impression of a downward angled lateral band. This is not shown by the fish in this photo.

Tom, it looks like a more colorful specimen of A. sp. Wangenflecken that I keep right now. Sadly none of my males show the amount of red spots as yours did.
