That is relative. These two are a little competative and my own thougts would be to have 1M and 2-3F of one type only. Remember the rule, plenty of caves,hidding places, plants etc etc. This will help each apisto to find a getaway and not always be chased by one fish or the other. Would find it unfair if you have both in the 20G and one would kill the other. Just my view

I wouldn't put more than a trio in such an aquarium. Unless it is as thick as s jungle. But then you won't be able to see your fish, are you. Watching my fish is why I keep them after all
