how long do the fry take to come out the cave?

yeeeeeees my fishes first successful egg laying! I feel like ive reached the next level, im ecstatic. I have cacatuoides pair and the female was acting super alert and i got suspicious. I left them alone but eventually checked the cave and saw little things, i dont know if they were eggs or fry but im wondering if everything goes free swimmingly how long does it take for them to leave the cave and when should i check again incase they are dead? its been two or three days so far

i dont have any moss but algae grew thickly on a piece of drift wood in another tank and i have added this as a kind of substitute. I have ordered brine shrimp eggs which will arrive next week sometime. aaaaaargh please advise this is hectic

I know it can be hard, but let nature take it's course. If you do not have any bbs yet, you can crush up some flake or pellets as fine as possible, soak in some tank water for 10 minutes and feed directly to the fry. Or you can buy some specialist fry food. I use Sera micron. I mix it up in a syringe with 10cm of air line on the end to feed direct to the fry.

should i wait until i can see them swimming around or shall i squirt some into the cave? I bought an dawrf cichlid book but it does not elaborate. thanks for the reply

Waite till you see them swimming around. Newly hatched bbs is the best thing though. It's cool watching apisto fry chase bbs.
