Hongsloi rotstrich sex please

Anyone sex this fish? Had it about 2 months and the male hasn't seemed to have paired with it yet. Good 1.5" fish. Not a lot of yellow on it so its making me scratch my head!

Don't take me as any form of expert, but I am going to guess young male. I don't see black leading edge on pelvic fins, and that is what I look for first on a female... correct or not ;P

Saying young or at least not dominant as the dorsal rays have not extended much, and (s)he is not showing much color.

And now we pause and wait for the real experts to answer.

The coloration makes me think male also. I know the regular hongsloi I had the female was bright yellow, didn't know if hongsloi "rotstrich" was different.

My guess is the same, a young male starting to sex out. Based on its size compared to the filter & heater, it looks like it's young. You should be able to say for sure in another month or two.
