Hongsloi? and Male/Female?

I got these two from a reputable store, but one who doesn't do much with Apistos at all, and he got them because his wholesaler was filling the order total. I just wanted to double check that they are Hongsloi. Thanks.

They all look like a pale yellow form of A. hongsloi, certainly not the Rotstrich form. They all look like males, too. Females show a broad black front edge on the ventral fins.

So, I am looking at the 3 agasizzi juveniles that I got at the same time as the Hongsloi and wondering if the black ventral is a sign of female in multiple species, or just some?

Most females - and juveniles - will show a black leading edge on the ventral fins most of the time. On agassizii-group females it is often are very thin and pale. They can be virtually invisible much of the time.
