High salinity

I'm in the process of setting up a (freshwater) tank that requires relatively high salinity/conductivity. What would be good plants for this kind of a set-up (preferably West African plants that I can find on Aquabid)? Thanks.

Plants

There are several good books on aquatic plants and planted aquariums, also in a lot of aquarium and fishkeeping books there is usualy a section on plants as well. You should be able to find something at your LFS

Are we talking Lake Natron here? No macrophyte grows in the lake, so a biotope tank would have algae as the only green stuff.

Vals and hornwort have done well for me in high salinity setups. Potamogeton, Najas and Ludwigia species are salt tolerant, too.

Rahul: Nope, not Lake Natron -- I'm trying to get a tank ready for the Iranocichla you and I had talked about, if I indeed get my hand at them. Seems like sodium chloride is the way to go in order to increase the conductivity to values preferred by Iranocichla (about 5 milliSiemens [sic!], if I remember the literature right). Are you still sticking with your recommendations for plants or would you like to revise your recommendations, based on the above figures for conductivity? Thanks.
