Hello, I bought my first ever Apistogramma, a Macmasteri ‘pair’ about a month ago, they are both around 1-1.25 inches. Since then I have been wondering if they are in fact a male and female pair, as I feel they look too similar once they coloured up which is very disappointing . I’ve asked on different Apisto facebook groups and have gotten varied answers, even from apparent experts. Could anyone help me with identification? Thank you, Rae :)

FISH #2

Fish #2 seems to be the dominant of the two, always chasing the other one.
Fish #2 is on the left here

Not really sure what to make of this behaviour?
