This makes me wish I had taken better records back in my early collecting days. I believe I brought this back from a early Peru collecting trip. May have been from the Rio Mazan but I'm not sure. Sorry about the picture quality.

It's one of the A. (cf.) paulmuelleri forms or, if from the Rio Tigre, A. sp. Pucacuro.

The answer is in the number of anal fin spines: more than 3 (rarely 4) and it is not an apisto.

You are correct. This was an off spring from some T-bars I collected in Peru. It's body was nearly white and was completely different from the other fish. I seperated him into his own tank after which, of course, he jumped out and died.
