I purchased as A. eremnopyge Male.

I think it is a A. bita. but I'm not sure.

Certainly not A. eremnopyge, I can see where the suggestion of A. bitaeniata comes from but the thickness of the lateral band seems excessive (and even at this size I would expect to see a seperation between the main and lower dark bands??

My guess is that this is probably a domestic strain of A. bitaeniata with an aberrant pattern of dark markings. Do photos of females exist?

Czech breeder's had answer for that.

I am sorry but the breeder has confirmed that the fish your received are really Apistogramma bitaeniata, not eremnopyge.
