Help to sex my blue german ram

Hi everyone,

Yesterday, I bought my first German Blue Ram from a store. The guy who sold it to me assured me that this fish was a male, but when I googled how to determine the gender, I started to doubt what he told me. Can you help me figure out the sex of this fish?

Chunky one... but still a concave belly... What size is the fish (in cm)? Without a scale this is not easy. It is a domestic breed and depending on which of the two possibilities there is a difference.

The oval shape and lack of metallic blue scales in the interior of the humeral spot on your fish are typical features seen on female blue rams. Males show a longer oval spot and many blue spangles within it.

I thought that the fact that it didn't have blue metallic scales on the black spot meant that it was male and not the other way around

Then I'm quite sure it's a male with female attributes (e.g. the reddish stomach) and not the other way round. Even jumbo females barely scratch that length.
