Hey Everyone,
I want to set up a CO2 system. I have tried the DIY set ups, and I am getting tired of the maintenence.

There seems to be a lot to learn about a high pressure system.
Would someone be willing to instruct me through this?

I need to know what parts to get, where to get them, and how to set it all up.
I know absolutley nothing about this. Is anyone willing to help me?
I would like to keep my costs down if possible, maybe order online?

If someone can help me set this up, my fish and I would be most appreciative.

Thanks
Jay

http://www.aquabuys.com/miva/mercha...2_set_dlx_05&Category_Code=i2&Product_Count=1 This is a really nice set up that's got everything you'd need. Use it as a guideline though, you can make a DIY reactor instead of buying that fancy one, but the rest of it is sweet. The PH controller is key.

You basically need three things:

- A bottle of CO2
- A regulator (attaches to the bottle)
- A reactor (brings water to the CO2)

You can get a 5lb bottle of CO2 at most fire extinguisher or welding supply stores for $40-$100.

I would search online for "JBJ CO2 Regulator".

As for a reactor, I made the outlined here.

pH controllers are extraneous junk, IMHO.

.

not sure but it just might be different from those use in planted tanks.

those for fire just might have fire suppression chemicals in it.

No, if you ask for a 5lb bottle of carbon dioxide, that is what you will get. They are clearly labeled.

If that were the case I suspect my plants and fish would have both been dead a long time ago.

monroe, or
I have been using co2 from the welding supply for 5 years or more. I am using a 10lb cylinder, it lasts for at least a year on my 75g tank.
