Hey guys,
So I picked up a bag of three Apistos from a fish auction a couple months ago. They were sold as "unsexed Apistogramma borellii".
I came home this weekend, and I discovered that a mail and female from the trio have paired up, and I believe that they have spawned underneath some driftwood in my tank.
Anyways, I've been looking up pictures of A. borellii but my apistos don't look anything like the ones on the internet! Could you help me figure out whether I actually have borellii or not? Thanks. The first three pictures are of the male, and the last two pictures are of the female as she guards the entrance to her burrow beneath the driftwood.
