Hello everyone! I'm a recent devotee to the South American Cichlids. In my younger days my wife-to-be and I kept a 60gallon African cichlid tank that we loved. As life moved on the tank faded in our lives and it has now been about 10 years. This past summer we introduced the hobby to our family, including a couple tween-agers now! When I went to stock the new tank at our LFS, we started with some basic molly, platy, danios. Upon frequent return the owner piqued our interest in the south american cichlids... now, about 4 months later, we have 3 tanks 20-40 gallons with some german blue rams, checkerboards, and agassizi double reds! I'm just loving these fish and can't get enough... to the point of joining this forum to help satiate my interest when I'm not at home!
