Thanks Neil,

4 nice looking Inca 50 arrived yesteday from Neil. I'm happy to be the proud owner.

The fish arrived in good shape and went right into a 10g QT, they have some java moss, 2 busted pots and a sponge filter for cover.

Is that to much for them to hide in? Or, should I strip the tank so they don't fight for territory? They are already a little nippy to each other.

Sure Matt,
I think that you have about right in the middle as far as dealing with this issue easily. I would suggest more cover. With 2 pairs in a ten, you want to make sure that no one fish gets singled out. If that one can find a hiding spot easily, it will definitely help. These guys don't seem to be unbelievably aggressive, so there should be only a lttle chasing and nipping. Keep an eye out though.

Matt,

I would put only one pair in a 10 gal. I had two pair in a ten and the dom. male didnt care much for the other male. When I took him out I set up two trios in two 10 gal tanks. In both cases I had to take out the extra female. The male only wanted one female in there.

Mine didnt get fry till the 5 spawn. The other spawns took longer to hatch and never got to the free swimming stage.

Yea, they are pretty onery, I can get them split up tomorrow. Gotta take my sons krib juvies in to free up a tank. Still is just going to be a 10g tank per pair until they pass QT, then they can call a 75g home. Planted of course with plenty of cover.
