Fry development and sexual dimorphism

I've been eyeing a few fry packs of Apistogramma. The main hurdle is that there is no way to be certain that one will get at least one of each sex. Thus, this question came to my mind. When do male and female fry start showing sexual dimoprhism. For instance, are male fry generally larger than females early on in life?

In my experience yes, males tend to grow faster, but I dont know at what age/size that becomes apparent. Getting fry of all one sex is always a risk with Apistos and other dwarf cichlids.

It can vary by species, breeder, etc. I know breeders that overfeed baby brine shrimp and the fish are sexable to an extent by 3 months, but my fry take longer because I don't devote as much time to water changes, feeding, etc.
