Impressive pictures Ted! I always enjoy your fish room visit posts. That price for entrance to the Denver aquarium is a steal! It costs 20 bucks just for admission to the one in Long Beach, CA near me, and about 30 bucks for the one in Monterey!

Very nice article, Ted.

Just a note about the tinfoil barbs, most of the fish in the hobby are pond raised in SE Asia and as such, lack the colors of wild fish (as seen in the pics, magnificent specimens!) because of extensive in-breeding and possible crosses with closely related species.

If you are lucky enough to get wild caught or close to wild caught fish, you will see the colors at a much earlier stage. Then again, you may not want to hang on to them anyway because they do grow to be too large for most home aquaria.
